The 13^th annual awards showcased more than 8151 hotels worldwide but only the top 10 made the cut on the finalist list.

The top hotel in the world went to Gili Lankanfushi Maldives, Lankanfushi, Maldives.

The Travellers’ Choice award winners “were determined based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travellers worldwide,” the review site stated.

“The Travellers’ Choice list of thousands of award-winning properties is perfect to inspire travellers as they think about their 2015 travel plans,” TripAdvisor, chief marketing officer, Barbara Messing said.

According to the company, the Travellers’ Choice awards take into account the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and opinions and traveller ratings specific to each award category.

Cocoa Island by COMO got listed in the sixth place while Constance Moofushi is in 15th place.

The Night Spa’s open-air lunar rituals have been recognized as Spa Treatment of the Year at the 10th annual AsiaSpa Awards: a category that invites entries from spas and hotels across the whole Asia region, irrespective of size, location or wellness approach.

Presented with a flower garland, guests are then escorted from their villa to a private dhoni to sail across the Resort’s lagoon.  On arrival at The Night Spa, they are greeted in the torch-lit lounge with a welcome drink by their therapist, then directed to an open-air pavilion on the Spa’s private, starlit beach.

Devised in conjunction with Sodashi to attune the body with nature’s purest rhythms, each treatment combines the magic and mysteries of the infinite night sky with therapeutic-grade extracts, essences and techniques.  Guests are invited to choose one of four 150-minute rituals – corresponding to the moon’s four phases.  While each ritual can be enjoyed at any time, selecting a treatment in its linked lunar phase enhances its health benefits.
